My Family Rocks

If you don’t already know it, my family is awesome. People always say when you leave home, you understand how incredible your family is and I strongly believe that. I have always loved my family, but I notice all their qualities while I am away and I have to talk to them to figure things out, instead of just watching them. As I’ve met other people, I have realized how incredible my family is. Although us kids are each 5 years apart, we are incredibly close. I know families that are a year apart and they don’t get along at all. If a sibling and I despised each other, my parents would beat our butts. They taught us such a valuable lesson: Don’t fight or argue with each other in public. Family is the most important things, so how can you not get along? Hate to break it to ya, but you’re gonna be stuck with them forever- get used to it!
I think about how my parents have raised me and I’m so grateful. Not to brag about myself or my family, but we are pretty good kids. We aren’t disruptive or rude. We are honest and respectful of people and property. So, I think my parents did a pretty good job with us. They taught us to love each other, no matter what. They taught us to value our education and strive to be the best we can be. They did all this while both maintaining jobs to provide us with a comfortable life.
I always joke with people about how my brother’s a weirdo. My brother’s pretty awesome. We get along really well, which I consider a blessing. We sure have our moments, though. We are both very much alike, which causes tension when we both think we’re right. We’re brutally honest with each other. But when feelings get hurt, it takes a day at the most for us to call and apologize. I’m so proud of my brother and all the things he has accomplished in only 24 years of his life. He’s working for a state legislator right now, so he’s in the newspaper and on the radio. He’s making a lot of his life. He even managed to find someone to marry! She is incredible as well and I’m so pleased to have an older sister!
My little sister is 14! She’s going to be graduating from 8th grade on Thursday and I’m so proud of the growth she has made this year. She moved schools, which is always a hard thing. She had to make a whole new group of friends and learn how to cope with not having our parents or any of their friends at the same school. She has grown up a ton and has found talents to develop.
My family is remarkable and I’m so glad I get to be with them forever!
