Loving Life!

This weekend was great! We had a BBQ on Saturday with some of our ward at Porter Park! There were some guys playing rugby and it was shirts vs. skins, so naturally a few of us ventured a safe distance away to enjoy the view. We were mocked, but who cares. Haha! I made my mama's cabbage salsa, and I think it was a hit! My roommates, Madi, and I were talking about how much we love avocado when our friend in our ward came up and told us about avocado shakes. We were disgusted but he tried to tell us how good they were. I told him I had left over avocados and when they became ripe, he was going to have to come over and make it for us. He came over on Tuesday and we made them. They are alright... I wouldn't eat it again, but it wasn't disgusting. But it's mostly avocado, milk, and sugar- so not the healthiest thing.
Sunday was great and I got a calling! I'm one of the many ward indexers, so I spend a couples hours a week indexing.. once I get it all set up.. haha. On Monday we went to iJump for FHE! It was a blast, and then we had incredibly delectable and mouth watering pizza. Mmmmm... I'm drooling just thinking about it! My groups did our presentation on Tuesday in Child Development and it went surprisingly well! Then we made avocado shakes. I've had funny bumps on my arm that I discovered Wednesday evening and I thought they were hives, so I took a Benadryl... at midnight. Whooops. Needless to say, I didn't make it to my class yesterday.
It was HOT and sunny yesterday, so a few of us went and laid out in the sun. The back of my shoulders are fried, but I'm so happy I got some sun! After that I hope in the shower and once I had scrubbed in the shampoo, the power went out. I finished my shower in pitch black. I was expecting a murderer to bust the door down and kill me- no lie. I made it out alive, thank goodness! It was Wednesday, and that's when I have Involvement meetings! I LOVE being involved in the school! It is so incredible and I have met so many wonderful people! I have made so many new friends, and that is a fabulous accomplishment!
Life is so great! I feel really bad for those who complain and mope all the time. Yeah, I don't have everything I want and I'm not perfect, but I'm making do with what I have. I have so many incredible blessings and I wouldn't dare regret them! My life may not be glorious, but it's wonderful and it can always improve. You get what you get and you don't throw a fit. Make the best with what you have, and you will be a changed person. I have, and I am.
