Today I woke up around six and laid in bed for an hour, begging to fall back asleep. That didn't work, so I go up and showered. After burning my foot on the scalding hot water and cringing from the pipes making a loud screeching noises, I figured it out.
Sydney and I then went to campus and walked to most of our classes. We then got our books and I was really excited to see the books I'm going to be reading in my Great Books class! After exploring some more, we then went to our own apartments (we aren't in the same one this semester) and put our things away. We both needed some groceries, so we decided to go to the store. After putting her key in the ignition and turning it, nothing happened. No sound. No lights. No worky. Anna and Erica came down and we tried to jump start it, after we called our parents to double check how to do it, and it started without us even connecting it to their truck.
Off we went to Albertsons where we spent an hour searching for the food we needed. We helped each other unload, and then headed off to Kiwi Loco for Erica's birthday! Then we went to Idaho Falls and it proceeded to rain buckets and hail as we drove. It was crazy!
We went to the mall and explored a bit. I got a few things, but nothing much because I don't have the money to spend. Long lines and lots of laughter made up those 4 hours at the mall. We then went to Red Robin (YUM!) to eat. It was packed, the service was questionable, and the food was subpar. We told our waiter it was Erica's birthday, and he came out with ice cream and said people were too busy to sing. Stupid.
We then began the trip back to the Burg, and got lost, so we took the scenic route. Lots of fields. Lots of cows. Typical Idaho.
After we got back, we watched Pride and Prejudice. It was my first time watching it, and I actually liked it! My favorite part is the ending.. where Mr. Darcy and Lizzie confess their love for each other and he calls her Mrs. Darcy! GAHHH! <3 *Swoon*
We took another trip to the store, came back and made brownies. :) It was a good day.
Now I'm sitting in my bed, thinking.
I had a really eventful break.
I celebrated Christmas with my family.
I visited the state capital.
I experienced the fear of having your house broken into while you're in it.
I went to Louisiana, Mexico, the Grand Caymans, and Jamaica.
I worked with amazing kids who have made me rethink my attitude. I fell in love with those kids.
I did a lot of cleaning.
I kept my standings as the favorite child. ;)
I went to multiple hockey games and became a diehard Wild fan. I made signs, screamed until I had no voice, and took pictures with my favorite players. I basically turned into a 14 year old girl.
I watched a lot of Netflix. I cried at the end of One Tree Hill and laughed at The Office.
Most importantly, I spent a lot of time with family.
So many holidays and so much time to spend with loved ones. I got the opportunity to help my great grandma make baked beans, clean out her closets and I got to listen to stories from when she was younger. It was such a joy to be with her, one on one, and talk. Everyone has a different relationship with Grandma, but we all feel the same way about her. And we all think we're her favorite.
By the signs from today, I think it's gonna be a great semester! :)
Have a fabulous day!
