Today we docked in
the Grand Caymans. It was so beautiful! The weather was warm and windy. We met
up with our group on the port and took a bus to our boat. Once we got on the
boat, we took a long ride out to the reef. There is a big sand bar known as
String Ray City.
I was terrified to
get in the water, but I knew it was a once in a lifetime chance, so I had to
swim with the sting rays. There was a sting ray wrangler on the boat who caught
one that we could pet and feed, even though hundreds swarmed us. Their sizes
varied from the size of my foot to the size of a small table. They don’t have
any teeth, and they eat by sucking things up, so it felt pretty weird to feed
them.
About half way
through our time there, someone yelled shark and everyone panicked. Luckily, it
turned out to be a dolphin! It stayed around for a bit and then followed our
boat when it was time to leave. We went a few hundred yards away and snorkeled,
and the dolphin stayed around for a few minutes, then got bored since no one
was allowed to touch it.
I didn’t see
anything too exciting while snorkeling, but I didn’t go over to the reef, where
everything was. Most of our family only stayed out for about half the time,
then came back on the boat. After that, we took and extremely long and slow
boat ride back to the harbor, where we hopped on a bus and went to Tiki Beach,
apart of 7-mile beach, where we would have lunch. We ate and then hid out in
the shade for a bit. Chickens and roosters ran wild and so did iguanas. After
over heating, we went into the clear blue water and floated around for a bit. I
collected a few more rocks to smuggle back onto the boat.
It was extremely
beautiful, probably the prettiest of all.
We got back and
didn’t have enough time to get ready for dinner in the dinning room, so we went
to the buffet after showering. After that, we wet to ‘Ice Dancing’ which
started out really lame, but then picked up speed and turned out pretty good!
After that, Liv, Madi, Kelsey, Taylor (Smith), and I hung out for a bit before
we went to the Love and Marriage game show in the theater. The husband of the
couple that had been married for 5 days used the words “thunder thighs” and
talked about how he didn’t like his mother-in-law. Everyone else was pretty
nice and funny about stuff.
