I woke up to my mom telling me someone had broken into our house. I didn’t believe her. I rolled over and told Livi to shut the door. Mom came in and told me that they had gone through my room and my jewelry box was all over the place. I jumped out of bed. They had been in my room. What if I had slept down there?!
I ran down and looked to see what was missing. My wallet was gone. As far as I know, that’s all that’s missing from my room.
On top of my wallet, they took our wii, credit cards, an iPod, a digital camera, and our safety and comfort. Things can be replaced. The fear and feeling of being violated cannot. What makes it worse is that they opened the door to Livi’s room where we both were sleeping. Liv thought it was our mom and said “Shut the door” and no answer, so she shut it. We asked our parents in the morning and they said they hadn’t come in.
It was a terrifying experience and I wouldn’t wish that experience upon anyone.
