2014,
another year come and gone, and it has been one to top them all! The year
started off with me at home for my off track. I worked at Rock Island
Elementary as a substitute para pro where I met some incredible little kids. I
also got to make friends with a few wonderful teachers. I watched the Seahawks
win the Super Bowl and then said goodbye to my teen years by turning 20.
I went back
to Rexburg for spring semester and got on Get Connected council where I became
in charge of planning trainings for 218 people. I made some remarkable friends
and laughed a lot. Rexburg flooded and I was able to see the Spirit of Ricks
come alive on campus.
Spring
turned to summer and I came home where I worked at Leavenworth Properties and
did a lot of house sitting. My car, Beatrice, died on me and I saw the freedom
of driving drift out of sight.
Summer
ended and I headed back to Rexburg. I moved into a new apartment with some
friends from my ward and it was the best decision I have ever made. Get
Connected came in a whirlwind of 4 days and it was astonishing. I kept up
volunteering with Student Support and was put on Student Ambassador council
where I was in charge of tours for incoming students. Yet again, I made some
more friends who have changed my life. Cheesy, I know, but very true. At the
end of the semester, I was lost and didn’t really know what was next for me.
But after a lot of prayer and doing all I could, I found my way. I was offered
a job through Student Support and now have the opportunity to apply myself even
more.
This year
was one of many blessings. I truly saw the hand of the Lord guiding me through
every step and I realized a lot about my relationship with Him. This is a
typical end-end-of-the-year post, but it shows what I’ve done and experienced
in one years time. So many opportunities and blessings came and it taught me a
lot. This year was one for the books and I’m so excited to see what 2015 is
going to bring.
